How to Delete Date(s) within a Rental
This article will go over how to properly delete dates from within a rental permit.
How to remove one date when more than one exists under the same location
* If only one date exists under its location go to this guide: https://recpro.helpsite.com/articles/103853-how-to-delete-dates-within-a-rental#how-to-delete-a-date-and-or-location-when-only-one-of-those-exists
1. Edit the rental and open the 'Review Rental' tab.
2. Expand the location by clicking the '+' sign to its immediate left. This will reveal all dates tied to that location.
3. Highlight the line of the date you want to remove.
4. Press 'Delete Date' to remove the selected line. If the date has been invoiced and paid a refund will auto generate for the amount of the date. If no payment has been made then it will simply just be removed from the rental reducing the unbilled amount.
5. If a refund prompt does come up, you will have to select a pay method to refund to. This a point of no return. You can not cancel or back out of the refund prompt as the date has already been removed. If a credit card was used that will become an option as well ONLY if a credit card refund had not already been done against a change in the same permit number.
How to delete a date and/or location when only one of those exists
If you are trying to cancel a rental see this guide: https://recpro.helpsite.com/articles/103851-how-to-cancel-a-rental
RecPro will not allow a user to remove a date from a rental location if it causes that location to exist with no other dates tied to it. If the location has not been invoiced yet you can simply remove it using the '-' button as shown here.
If the date being removed is already invoiced you'll have to use a workaround to delete the location its tied to.
1. Add a 'fake' date to the same location being deleted. The date will be temporary and will be removed shortly after adding it. This will allow you to remove the invoiced date since it will no longer be the only date under that location.
2. After removing the invoiced date, you will then be free to delete the temporary date and location it was tied to using the method above.
