Barcode Scanners
Both the 'Membership Check-in' and 'Membership Check-in with Drop In' modules support the use of USB barcode scanners. The scanner being used must be able to act as a keyboard wedge and must have it's carriage return setting turned on. The manufacturers device manual will have instructions going over how to turn both of these modes on.
Example of a Keyboard Wedge and Carriage Return setting in the manual for a Honeywell 7580g.
Because the scanner acts as a keyboard the active keyboard cursor must be targeting the 'Member ID' filed within the Membership Check In screen when making the scan. You will not be able to scan cards while navigating in other windows within RecPro.
If you have customers that use their barcode on a mobile device you must have a scanner that supports the ability to read LCD and LED displays. We can confirm that the Honeywell 7580g supports this feature.
