How to Configure GMAIL 2-Step Authentication with RecPro
If you have or need to turn on GMAIL 2-step authentication for the account being used for SMTP relay follow the steps in this article.
1. Turn on 2-Step Verification
If you are not familiar with this sign-in method its essentially a way to add a second layer of security to your GMAIL account. Not only do you need to use your typical GMAIL password you also need to provide a randomly generated code afterwards. These are generated by authenticator apps. You can, however, create an app specifipassword to be used with RecPro once turned on.

2. Generate an app specific password
To make 2-step authentication work with ReCPro a specific app password has to be created. This is a password that only ReCPro would be authorized to use. Instructions on how to set this up can be found here: https://support.google.
3. Enter the unique ReCPro app password into RecPro's SMTP Setup
When you create a new app password you will be given its unique code one time. You can not get this back unless you generate a new app password. Enter the unique code into RecPro's SMTP setup as shown below.
