How to Apply a Registration Fee to Child Care

This article will go over how to charge your patrons a registration fee when signing up for a Child Care program.  This fee is added on top of session fee's and can be added either one time or each them they register.  Each child care program will have its own set of rules and can not be cross referenced with other programs.


1.  Open your child care program under the 'Child Care' -> 'Child Care' menu.

2.  Navigate to the 'Fees' tab of that child care program and then click on the 'Other Fees ' tab.


3.  Select the 'Registration Fee' drop down filed to select which miscellaneous fee you want to attach to this course.  This will determine which G/L account will be used when payment is made against it.  You can edit or add new fees under 'Setup' -> 'System Defaults' -> 'Miscellaneous Fees'.


4. Once the registration fee has been selected you will be able to set up which child(s) the fee applies to.  

In this example only the first child will be charged a registration fee of $25.  Any additional children in the same household registering will not get the registration fee applied.


If you want every single child within the same family charged the registration fee you will have to account for every scenario.  In this example the fee will get charged for up to 8 children within the same household.  You can adjust the pricing for each individual child here as well.  For example the first registration is $25 and every subsequent child is charged $10.


Also note the column labeled 'Apply Only Once'.  If this box is marked the child numbered will only be responsible for the registration fee once even if they go back and register for additional sessions at a later time.
